The adapted script of the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is from the 4th episode of the Wang Du Lu's five novels. Steven Martin had a good joke in the Oscar night. He figured out there are no tiger and dragon in the movie, because of the crouching and hidden. Actually, the dragon is the Jen Yu (Zhang Ziyi) and the tiger is Lo (Chang Chen).
