24 Solar Segments of Chinese Astrology Calendar

The Chinese calendar divides the year into 24 solar segments using the sun positions on the tropical zodiac. The 24 solar segments points include 12 monthly boundary points of Chinese astrology and 12 monthly boundary points of western astrology. The first month of the Chinese astrological year is the Tiger month. The first day of Tiger month is the Start of Spring. It's a date that the sun enters the 315th degree on the tropical zodiac. The Start of Spring falls around February 4 every year.

In western astrology, Pisces is the time of the sun entering 330th degrees on the tropical zodiac. The name of the Chinese solar segment is Rain Water. For more detailed information about 24 solar segments of the Chinese Astrology Calendar, you can read the Theory of the Chinese Lunar Calendar.

The Four-Pillars, a.k.a Ba-Zi, Chinese astrology uses 24 solar segments to build the Chinese astrology birth chart without using the Chinese Lunar Calendar. Chinese Calendar combines the lunar calendar, solar calendar, and stem-branch calendar.
